Process refractometers are invariably used in place of site glasses for controlling product interfaces when packaging beers, fruit juices and carbonated beverages.
The PRH refractometer manufactured by B+S Process Instruments, a division of Bellingham + Stanley Ltd., is ideally suited for this application and when used with the dedicated Interface Detection Panel provides both automatic and manual control of valves that determine whether product is packaged, re-circulated or discarded as waste.
The panel enables the operator to manage up to three product lines through the application of product limits from a library of 100 fully editable product profiles, accessed by the touch sensitive display screen.
Signal Outputs from the Interface Detection Panel facilitate further integration with existing plant PLC’s, completing the package of automation. Further details can be obtained by speaking with an engineer from B+S Process Instruments.

Alarm Systems
Alarm
panel installed at a USA Juice company. The panel sounds an alarm in
the event of a product falling outside of the programmed specification.
The operator is required to acknowledge the alarm prior to the cessation
of the alarm signal.
A
simple audible visual alarm beacon can be supplied with or without a silence
key switch. Rated IP65 without key switch; un-rated with key switch.
